Marvellous & rare vintage 1930s British breeches, bespoke tailor made in 1938 by 'Pinder & Tuckwell' of Exeter from a lovely homespun knobbly Donegal Tweed wool fabric in shades of brown & natural with scattered rainbow neps or flecks - on my screen the close ups are most accurate. Cut in the classic style with wide thighs, bound or taped edges, high rise fishtail back with cinch buckle adjuster strap, full-cut seat, button fly & braces buttons (of which there are sets of 3 at the front, all tailor marked), 2 side pockets, button fastened at the calf, where they are also lined in cotton with suede behind the buttons.

Size: Suggested 39" waist, regular length fitting.
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Waist: 19 1/2" (49.5cm) [nothing available to let out]
Inside leg to hem: 22 1/2" (57cm)
Inside leg to knee: approx. 14" (35.5cm)
Outside leg (in a straight line): 35" (89cm)
Rise - crotch seam to top of waist: 16 1/2" (42cm)
Leg width at calf seam (i.e. the narrowest point): 7" (18cm) on the right leg, 7 1/2" (19cm) on the left leg - being bespoke tailored they were made to fit the customer's slightly different legs, & the hems are also different from each other; some adjustments can be made by moving the buttons.
Condition:
In good to very good condition with light wear overall - slightly more wear at the seat - a few faint brown marks, the most apparent of which are arrowed - a hole at the upper right inside leg & another on the right fishtail (arrowed) - a few other tiny holes which the camera couldn't see - some stains & marks to the waistband lining, pocket bags & fork lining, which also has a small hole - some broken stitching on parts of the calf lining. Have been thoroughly steamed prior to listing.
