A wonderful vintage 1930s French three-piece suit, tailor made from a fairly heavy weight wool fabric in a slightly marled charcoal grey with red & white pinstripes. Single-breasted 3 button jacket with quite heavily padded shoulders, broad notch lapels, no front darts, fitted waist, welted chest & lower flap pockets, cuffs with 3 decorative buttons; fully lined in black rayon twill with 3 inside pockets, off-white striped polished cotton sleeve linings. Waistcoat with 6 buttons, 4 pockets, rear adjuster strap, backed with black cotton twill & lined to match the sleeves with an inside pocket. Trousers are full cut & wide in the leg, with deep waistband, single inward pleats, side buckle adjuster tabs, braces buttons, side slip & 1 rear pocket, button fly, plain hems.
NB This suit was bespoke made for an individual with a physical anomaly such as a stoop, hunch back, rounded shoulders, or similar; as can be seen in the photos, the upper back of the jacket & waistcoat have been cut with extra fullness to accommodate this, & there is more wadding at the underarm/outer rib area than usual - I lightly padded the mannequin's back under the jacket. Bear in mind that you may need to make alterations for a proper fit.

Condition:
In very good to excellent condition overall, does not appear much worn but with some minor flaws: - the jacket has a small hole on the upper back right sleeve, a couple of nicks on the right cuff, small holes on the lower left skirt & hem edge (arrowed), some scuffs & frays to the lining at the neck back - the trousers have a small hole on the right front thigh (arrowed) & a small hole on the back in the same place, a bit of rust on the buckles, some small moth nips, wear, marks & scuffing around the hems - all 3 pieces have some faint spots & marks to the linings, mild surface crazing to some of the buttons. Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing but not cleaned.
