Vintage Mens 1940s 1950s American Red Black Plaid Wool Trousers XL 42"
Vintage 1940s or 1950s American hunting or outdoors trousers, made in the style often referred to at the time as 'zouaves' from a heavyweight wool fabric in bold red & black plaid; the red is slightly variegated, with some paler strands woven in. They are full-cut & quite wide in the legs, tapering into rib knitted cuffs, have a high waist with flat front, brass 'Rapid' zip fly, belt loops & braces buttons, 2 side slip & 2 rear pockets; the lining & pocket bags are made from sturdy cotton 'boat sail drill'. No maker's label, just a small union tag & dry clean only label.
Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
Size: Suggested 42" waist.
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):

Outside leg: 42" (107cm)
