A really nice vintage two-piece suit from the late 1940s or early 1950s, made from wool herringbone weave fabric in slate or graphite grey. The double-breasted jacket has strongly padded shoulders, broad lapels, fitted waist, flapped lower pockets, & 4 x 2 button fastening; it is fully lined in grey rayon twill with off-white sleeve linings. The trousers are full-cut & wide in the leg, with stylish wider-than-usual waistband, extra-deep double inward pleats, button fly, brace buttons, turn-ups, and side slip, flapped front cash & 1 flapped rear pockets. No labels present.
Shirt & tie not included.

Condition:
In excellent condition overall, appears very little worn - there are a few marks to the sleeve & waistband linings - the trousers have been narrowed at some point & subsequently returned to the original width; there are slight crease lines where they were altered which would likely diminish with a proper Hofmann pressing & a couple of snags on the seam line where whoever first unpicked them was a bit careless (arrowed). Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing.
