A fabulous vintage late 1940s or early 1950s raglan sleeve trench coat with all the bells & whistles, retailed by the well-known outfitters 'Moss Bros.' of Covent Garden. Made from sturdy poplin fabric in a brownish khaki colour with a slightly shot or iridescent finish, lined with plaid cotton flannel in the body & khaki cotton in the sleeves, it has a wealth of super details, including broad lapels, generous storm tab at the throat which folds for stowage under the collar, scalloped rear yoke, removable epaulettes, leather 'football' buttons, belt & wrist straps with leather-covered buckles, rear kick pleat with gusset, internal storm cuffs & leg straps. One of the best trench coats to come my way in the last 40 years - if it was my size I'd be keeping it!

Size: Suggested L / XL, shorter fitting - to fit about 42"/44" chest depending on layers beneath & desired fit - photographed on a 44" mannequin.
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Chest - armpit to armpit: 26" (66cm)
Sleeve length centre neck to cuff: approx. 36" (91.5cm)
Armpit to cuff: 19 1/2" (49.5cm)
Waist: 26" (66cm)
Back length - base of collar to hem: 42" (107cm)
Condition:
In very good to excellent condition overall with some signs of wear & use - there is a small faded patch below the right hand pocket entry & another in a similar place on the left (both circled) with some very faint dark marks nearby - a few other faint marks here & there - wear to the leather buckles, especially the right wrist - the bonded interlining in the collar has gone a bit crinkly - the left internal storm cuff has a tear (circled). Has been thoroughly steamed prior to listing.
