A wonderful vintage 1940s or 1950s German or Austrian Trachten style hunting jacket, made from medium/heavy weight wool fabric in a heathered mid grey shade with bottle green trim. In an unusual cut which combines traditional 'Janker' style with features of the Italian 'Maremma' type of jacket, it is single-breasted with 3 buttons, has broad notched lapels with button fasting, strongly padded shoulders with epaulettes, cuff tabs, and very clever, scalloped, double-thickness pocket panels giving multiple stowage areas on the front accessible from different directions & a full-width pocket across the back. Fitted with real stag horn buttons - fully lined with grey rayon with 2 inside chest pockets & grey/white striped sleeve linings. Appears tailor made with much hand work evident; no labels present.

Condition:
In excellent condition with light wear overall - there are a few small faint marks here & there - some scattered small surface moth grazes which are hidden by the marl - one cuff button is missing - the lining has some scuffs & marks, particularly inside the cuffs - 1 inside pocket button tab has come loose . Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing.
