A wonderful vintage drayman's or delivery driver's jacket or sleeved waistcoat from 'Mitchells & Butlers Ltd.' brewery, made from heavyweight beige corduroy & sandy moleskin fabrics; it has a rather Victorian or Edwardian appearance but is more likely from the 1940s or early 1950s - photos show the same jacket being worn in this timeframe with matching cord trousers. Single breasted 6-button fastening with waistcoat points - notch lapels with 'M&B' embroidered in yellow on the collar - flapped breast & lower pockets - longer back for warmth - fitted with brass monogrammed livery-style buttons - part lined in marled grey herringbone fabric with cream cotton sleeve linings - 1 large inside pocket. No labels present. The company is still in the pub & restaurant business today.

Condition: In excellent condition overall, quite possibly unworn but with some storage-related flaws - there are 2 small holes in an abraded patch on the rear left shoulder - a slightly faded patch & a small dark mark on the right front shoulder - 2 rusty marks inside the collar - slight surface mottling to the corduroy & a few scattered small marks - some tarnishing to the buttons. Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing.
