A wonderful weatherbeaten, time worn vintage 1940s or early 1950s keepers or riding jacket, made from wool twill fabric, finer than whipcord & not quite keepers tweed or covert cloth, in a pale olive colour. Single breasted high gorge 4-button fastening - slim lapels with storm throat latch tab - centre vent - quite lightly padded, narrow shoulders & high armholes - slightly fitted waist - longer equestrian style body - flapped, angled breast & lower hand pockets - tortoiseshell-effect early plastic buttons - lined in red Tattersall check wool flannel fabric with buff cotton sleeve linings - 1 inside chest, 1 ticket & 2 large 'poacher's' pockets . No labels present - has a rather Edwardian or 1920s appearance, very much like gamekeepers jackets of that era, but the construction lead me to believe it is a slightly more recent traditionally-styled garment .

Size: Extra small, Suggested 36 Short - Photographed on a 38" mannequin & it was too tight.
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):

Shoulder to cuff: 24 1/2" (62cm) [was originally 22" (56cm)]

Back length - bottom of collar to hem: 29" (73.7cm)
Condition:
In well-used condition with evident wear, patina & fade throughout - externally, a number of small holes, scuffs, snags, frayed edges & stains scattered overall - some fuzziness at the armpit areas - the sleeves have been lengthened & there are wear lines at the original length - one front button is a replacement & they are all crazed & have been moved near to the edge - all the pocket bags have wear, some holes & repairs - internally, light wear to the lining - the sleeve linings are replacements. Has been carefully hand washed, thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing.
