Vintage Mens 1940s Bespoke Cavalry Twill Trousers Heavyweight Beige Wool Pants 30"
A rare & lovely pair of circa 1940s trousers, bespoke tailor made by 'Bernard Weatherill' from super heavyweight thick wool cavalry twill fabric in a buff beige colour. They are full-cut & fairly wide in the leg, have double inward pleats, side prong buckle adjuster tabs, button fly, braces buttons, 2 side slip & 1 rear pockets & turn-ups.

Size: Suggested 30" waist.
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Waist: 15 1/2" (39cm) - have been let out to max.
Inside leg: 29" (73.7cm) [about 1" to let down without using the turn-ups]
Outside leg: 41" (104cm)
Rise - crotch seam to top of waist: 13 1/2" (34cm)
Leg width at hem: 9" (23cm)
Condition:
In very good condition with light wear overall - there is a small surface nip to the left outer knee area (arrowed) & a few other tiny nibbles which the camera couldn't see - a faint mark near the fly (arrowed) & a few faint brown spots near the hems - some discolouration, marks & small holes to the linings & pocket bags - an extra buttonhole has been cut in the waistband (arrowed) - the waist has been let out & an extra piece of fabric added to the lining. Have been thoroughly steamed prior to listing.
