A rare and lovely pair of vintage 1940s knicker breeches, bespoke made in 1941 by "T.W. Parkington" for a Mr. Cocksedge from a fairly heavyweight diagonal weave wool tweed fabric in a complex grey, brown & green mixture. They are full-cut in the seat, wide in the leg, with flat front, high rise back, frogmouth pockets, button fly, braces buttons, button fastened cuffs with rear gaiter attachment button, and are fully lined in cream calico.

Size: Suggested 31" waist - NB the cuff width suggests a slim calf
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Waist: 15 1/2" (39.4cm)
Inside leg: 21 1/2" (54.5cm)
Outside leg: 34" (86cm)
Rise - crotch seam to top of waist: 14" (35.5cm)
Leg opening at hem: 6 1/4" (16cm)
Condition:
In very good to excellent condition overall, appear seldom worn - there is a small hole on the upper left back (circled) - on closer examination some moth grazing to the surface nap (the most apparent is circled) - the cuff buttons have been moved - the lining has some marks & stains, a few loose stitches, a tear in the calico at the right hem. Have been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing.
