A vintage 1940s or early 1950s American cardigan jacket made by 'Catalina' from textured jersey knit 100% wool fabric in a marled sandy beige colour. It has a V neck, plain cuffs & waistband, 2 large patch pockets & fastens with domed honey-coloured early plastic buttons.

Size: Marked L, but has grown over the years to a suggested XL - shown on a mannequin with a 38" chest - please check the measurements below. All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate (with approx. metric equivalent): Chest pit to pit: 24 1/2” (62cm) Width at Hem: 25” (63.5cm) Shoulder to shoulder: 19 3/4” (50cm) Sleeve length shoulder seam to cuff: 24 1/2" (62cm) Sleeve length pit to cuff: 19 1/4” (49cm) Back length from bottom of collar to hem: 25” (63.5cm)
Condition: In good condition with light wear overall - the fabric appears to have stretched sideways, presumably as a result of being washed (despite the dry clean only label!), & is perhaps a little stiffer than it was when new - there is faint yellowing around the collar & cuff edges - the buttons are slightly crazed. Has been thoroughly steamed prior to listing.
