A fantastic vintage 1940s European (most likely German) suit, stylishly tailored with some super details from a light/medium-weight, soft & drapey rayon twill weave fabric in dark blue with fine off-white pinstripes. The jacket is a single-breasted, notch lapel style with heavily padded shoulders, 3 fairly close-set buttons, fitted waist, welted chest & lower flap pockets, cuffs with 3 decorative buttons; lined in black rayon with blue striped sleeve linings. Trousers are quite full cut with wide legs, have double inward pleats, generous side waist adjuster tabs with blued buckles, V-notched waistband, button fly, braces buttons, welted front & 1 flapped rear pockets, & Continental-style half-depth turn-ups.

Condition:
In excellent condition overall, appears seldom worn - there is some minor surface wear & a few plucks to the fabric - the jacket buttons have been moved, leaving faint marks where they originally were - slight wear to the leading edge at the roll - the sleeve linings have some repairs to the seams & a small fray at the left cuff edge. On closer examination there are faint marks where the trouser legs have been narrowed & subsequently returned to the original width; an extra piece has been added to the hem tape inside. Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing but not cleaned.
