Vintage Mens 1940s Tweed Waistcoat Brown Check Bespoke Tailored Flap Pockets 44"
Vintage Mens 1940s Tweed Waistcoat Brown Check Bespoke Tailored Flap Pockets 44"
A vintage circa 1940s waistcoat, tailor made from a lovely mini-checked tweed in gingery brown & natural with occasional orange flecks. Cut with a continuous neck-band - a sign of quality - it has 4 pockets, the lower two having generous flaps, 6 horn buttons to fasten, & is backed with taupe rayon twill with a cinch buckle adjuster; lined in off-white rayon with red, blue & silver stripes.
Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
Size: Suggested 44" - shown on a 38" mannequin.
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Chest - armpit to armpit: 22 1/4" (56.5cm)
Shoulder to shoulder: 13 1/2" (34.3cm)
Length at front from neck back to hem point: 26" (66cm)
Condition:
In good condition overall - there is a moth nip on the lower left front, another on the bottom left hem edge, & another on the right armhole edge (arrowed) - slight fade around the neck back & some spots & watermarks on the back - multiple stains, spots & watermarks to the lining. Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing but a slightly musty remains - would benefit from a gentle wash.
I have a no returns policy - please check the above measurements and compare to a similar garment of your own before buying - no refund offered for items that don’t fit.
