A vintage Burton three-piece suit, made in May 1960 in a very traditional 40s/50s style from a Scottish thornproof type wool fabric in a rare & beautiful speckled teal & brown mixture which was hard to capture; on my screen the mannequin shots are most accurate. Single-breasted 3 button jacket with quite heavily padded shoulders, notch lapels, rear centre vent, welted chest & lower flap pockets, cuffs with 3 decorative buttons; fully lined in chocolate brown rayon twill with ivory striped sleeve linings. Waistcoat with 6 buttons, 4 pockets, rear adjuster strap, backed & lined to match the jacket. Trousers are full cut & wide in the leg, with double inward pleats, braces buttons, side slip & 1 rear pocket, button fly, turn-ups. Shirt & tie not included.

Condition: In very good condition overall, does not appear much worn but with some minor flaws: - the jacket has a tiny repair on the right front hear the pocket (arrowed), the lining has some scuffs & tiny holes near the hem, some popped stitches around the armpits - the trousers have 3 small repairs to the inner left thigh (circled - not very apparent when worn), some marks & wear to the linings, pocket bags & waistband lining, especially around the brace buttons, some of which have pulled off & been replaced, leaving a frayed hole behind. Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing but a slight storage aroma remains.
