An eye-catching vintage late 1950s American two-piece suit from 'Grodins', made from 'Parsetta', a lightweight slub-weave shot silk effect Rayon fabric in pinkish taupe with pewter grey striations & black flecks; needless to say the iridescent nature made it rather hard to photograph! Single-breasted 3 button jacket in a fairly boxy cut, with quite lightly padded shoulders, slim notch lapels, centre vent, welted chest & lower flap pockets, cuffs with 2 decorative buttons; part lined in iridescent pinkish herringbone rayon. Trousers with single outward pleats, semi-Hollywood waist (i.e. seamed at the front but continuous at the back), slightly dropped belt loops, side slip & 2 rear pockets, Talon zip fly, turn-ups.
Shirt & tie not included.

Condition:
In very good condition overall, does not appear much worn - however, there is some fading & discolouration, mostly on the jacket across the shoulders & down the outer sleeves; the shimmery surface makes this look rather worse in photos than in person, in my opinion it is not so apparent in motion - also on closer examination there are minor watermarks at the front armpits & some yellowing to the collar fold (see close ups). The trouser linings are discoloured in places & the fork linings have some stains. Has been thoroughly steamed prior to listing but not cleaned.
