Vintage Mens 1950s British Rail Drivers Work Jacket Black Wool Workwear Coat 38"/40"
A characterful vintage 1950s British Rail driver's work uniform jacket, made from black wool serge fabric. Cut in a traditional, rather Edwardian style (I daresay the pattern used had remained much the same for 50 years!), unstructured & unlined, with 4-button front, fairly high gorge with slim lapels, large patch pockets, especially the one on the chest, with internal reinforcing tapes. Fitted with bakelite or composition 'BR' moulded buttons; no labels present.
Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
Size: Suggested 38"- 40", depending on what is worn beneath - Photographed on a 38" mannequin.
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
