Vintage Mens 1950s Burton Harris Tweed Sports Jacket Grey-Green Brown 44"
Vintage Mens 1950s Burton Harris Tweed Sports Jacket Grey-Green Brown 44"
A vintage mid 1950s Harris Tweed sports jacket in a hard to find larger size, made by 'Burton' (i.e. Montague Burton) from 100% pure wool fabric in an uncommon rustic weave in shades of brown & variegated grey-green. Single breasted 3-button fastening with notched lapels - side vents - quite heavily padded shoulders - fitted waist - welted breast & lower angled, flapped hand & ticket pockets - leather 'football' buttons - fully lined with pale grey rayon twill fabric with 1 chest pocket & a large 'poachers' pocket, sleeves lined in ivory striped rayon. The Harris label bears the 'Applied in accordance' text which I believe came into use in about 1954; the new style Burtons label was introduced around 1955.
NB Accessories not included.
