A characterful vintage 1950s Harris Tweed sports jacket, made from 100% pure wool in a bold shepherd check weave in gingery brown & natural, trimmed on the front edges, cuffs & elbows with tan leather. Single breasted 3-button fastening with broad notch lapels - centre vent - quite heavily padded shoulders - welted breast & lower flapped pockets - leather 'football' buttons - fully lined in brown rayon with ivory sleeve linings - 1 inside chest pocket. The Harris label bears the 'Applied in accordance' text which I believe came into use in about 1954.

Size: Suggested 40 Regular Photographed on a 38" mannequin. All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):

Condition: In good, nicely worn but well-used condition, with signs of wear overall - externally there is wear to the lapel roll - yellowing to the collar fold - the buttons are a mismatched set - the lining has wear, holes, fraying & some repairs at the neck & hem - the hanging loop is loose & shredded - various ink stains - discolouration & some loose stitching at the armpits - discolouration, marks & some splits & tears to the sleeve liners. Has been thoroughly steamed but a faint storage smell & some mustiness at the armpits remains.
