A vintage early 1950s Harris Tweed sports jacket in a harder to find patch pocket model, made by 'Anthony Squires', an Australian mens outfitters, from 100% pure wool in a classic mini check weave in shades of brown, green, grey & natural. Single breasted 2-button fastening with medium lapels - no vents - moderately padded shoulders - slightly fitted waist - 3 patch pockets - fully lined with brown rayon twill fabric with 1 chest pocket, sleeves lined with cream rayon.

Size: Marked 38 Regular but it's quite trim fitting - photographed on a 38" mannequin.
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Jacket Chest - armpit to armpit: 21" (53.3cm)
Shoulder to shoulder: 18" (46cm)
Shoulder to cuff: 24 1/2" (62.2cm)
Armpit to cuff: 17" (43cm)
Waist: 19 1/4" (49cm)
Back length - bottom of collar to hem: 30" (76cm)
Condition:
In quite well worn condition, with signs of use & some flaws - externally there is overall surface wear & more noticeable wear to the leading edges - wear, repairs & fraying to the buttonholes - a faint dark (ink?) mark below the chest pocket - a faint brown mark on the lower left sleeve - a small hole at the bottom of the lower right pocket - yellowing to the collar fold & cuff edges - frays & holes to the binding tape on the dart seams inside the pockets - one cuff button is odd. Internally a repair strip to the lining at the neck back - multiple holes & frays along the bottom edge - stains, watermarks, wear & some repairs to body & sleeve linings . Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing but some fustiness at the armpits remains.
