Vintage Mens 1950s Heavy Rib Round Neck Jumper Navy Blue Sweater Fisherman Ribbed UK S
Vintage Mens 1950s Heavy Rib Round Neck Jumper Navy Blue Sweater Fisherman Ribbed UK S
A vintage circa 1950s thick jumper, made in Scotland by 'McDonalds' from fairly chunky navy blue wool. Knitted in a fisherman type rib, with wider stitches on the body & sleeves and narrower on the yoke, with an unusual curved ribbed neckband, deep ribbed waistband & cuffs.
Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
Size: Suggested UK S - shown on a mannequin with a 38" chest & it was tight - Please check measurements below:
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate (with approx. metric equivalent):
Chest pit to pit: 19 1/2” (49.5cm) relaxed, will stretch to 21" (53cm)
Shoulder to shoulder: 18” (46cm)
Sleeve from shoulder to cuff: 23" (58.4cm)
Sleeve from pit to cuff: 20” (51cm)
Length neck back to hem: 24” (61cm)
Width at Hem: 14” (35.5cm) unstretched
Condition:
In good condition, with light wear & some minor bobbling overall - the knit is a bit stiff, but it is still quite flexible, I'm not sure whether from being washed a bit too hot or because it is intentionally that way to be windproof & water-resistant. Has been carefully hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
Returns:
I do my very best to carefully list/illustrate any flaws I find. This item is sold as is - no returns unless the item has been grossly misrepresented.
Please check the above measurements and compare to a similar garment of your own before buying - no refund offered for items that don’t fit.
