Vintage Mens 1950s Honorbilt Tweed Sports Jacket Herringbone Brown 38"
Vintage Mens 1950s Honorbilt Tweed Sports Jacket Herringbone Brown 38"
A vintage early 1950s sports or hacking jacket, made by 'Honorbilt' from 100% wool cloth from 'Ballantyne of Peebles' in a marled brown & natural herringbone weave - on my screen the close ups show it most accurately. Single breasted 3-button fastening with fairly wide lapels - no vents - medium padded shoulders - slightly fitted or suppressed waist - welted breast & lower flapped hand pockets - leather 'football' buttons - lined in brown rayon with ivory sleeve linings - 1 inside chest pocket. Despite sounding American, 'Honorbilt' was the trade name of Lawrence Nedas Ltd., a long-established British company who amongst many other things made 'Ursula' type waterproof suits for the Royal Navy during WW2.
Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
