A vintage 1950s American zip-up blouson-style cardigan or lumberjacket , made by 'Kandel Knitting Mills' of Portland, Oregon from medium weight 100% wool yarn in a cream colour with black stripes round the neck, cuffs & hem. Knitted in an English rib stitch, with horizontal ribbing either side of the opening, ribbed shawl collar, ribbed waistband & cuffs, & a zip-fastened chest pocket; the front fastens with a brass 'Conmatic - USA' zip, the pocket with a white painted one.

Condition:
In good condition overall, does not appear much worn but on closer examination there are several scattered faint brown marks on the centre front, most likely from a coffee spill, & one on the underside of the left cuff (circled) - a pulled thread near the right cuff (arrowed). Has been carefully hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
