A superb vintage 1950s Harris Tweed sports jacket from the well-known London department store 'Selfridges', in an uncommon mini check or grid weave in shades of brown, bluey-green & natural. Single breasted 3-button fastening with notch lapels - single vent - quite lightly padded shoulders - fitted or suppressed waist - welted breast & lower flapped pockets - grey-green leather 'football' buttons - fully lined with green acetate with 1 chest pocket & 1 ticket pocket, sleeves lined with ivory. Unusual store branded label which appears to have been hand sewn in place after removing the standard one.

Condition: In very good to excellent condition, with light wear overall - there is a discreet repair to the inside face of the left cuff (arrowed) & a few tiny surface nips which the camera couldn't see - slight yellowing to the collar fold - a small hole to next to the hanging loop - a few faint marks - the lining has some discolouration across the shoulders & at the armpits, & has come away from the edging of the ticket pocket (circled) . Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing.
