Vintage Mens 1950s Trousers Brick Red Brown Tweed Wool Pants 38" Extra Short
A pair of circa 1950s trousers, made for a shorter chap (or a larger lad!) by an unknown tailor from a fairly heavyweight diagonal twill weave wool fabric in a super variegated brick red/brown colour. They are quite full-cut with tapered legs, have single inward pleats, belt loops, 'Eclair' zip fly, braces buttons, 2 side slip, flapped front cash & 2 flapped rear pockets. Could of course also be worn by a taller man in a pedal pusher style or made into shorts...
Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
Size: Suggested 38" waist.
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Waist: 19" (48cm) - have been let out to max.
Inside leg: 24" (61cm) [about 2" to let down]
Outside leg: 35" (89cm)
Rise - crotch seam to top of waist: 13" (33cm)
Leg width at hem: 8 3/4" (22cm)
Condition:
In very good condition with light wear overall - there is a faint dark mark at the left front hem - discolouration & marks to the linings & pocket bags - the waist has been let out & an extra piece of fabric added to the lining, & there are faint marks inside the hem where the length has been shortened. Have been thoroughly steamed prior to listing.
I have a no returns policy - please check the above measurements and compare to a similar garment of your own before buying - no refund offered for items that don’t fit.
