Vintage Mens 1950s Wool Dressing Gown Robe Green Brown Check Plaid UK Small
A vintage 1950s dressing gown or robe from CWS Society Wear (i.e the Co-op), made from wool fleecy-surfaced fabric in a bold green, brown & off-white check. It is wrap-over style, longer in the body than many similar robes, with a shawl collar, 3 patch pockets, piped cord edging with matching Hungarian knot decorations on the pockets & cuffs, & retains the matching tie cord for the waist.
Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
Size: Suggested UK Small, short fitting - shown on a mannequin with a 38" chest (please check measurements bellow)
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate (with approx. metric equivalent):
Chest: 22 1/2" (57 cm)
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 18" (46 cm)
Sleeve length shoulder to cuff: 23" (58 cm)
Sleeve underarm to cuff: 16 1/2" (42 cm)
Length nape to hem: 48" (122 cm)
Condition:
In very good condition overall - there is a small repair to the lower left skirt (arrowed) - a couple of tiny nibbles to the fuzzy nap of the cloth - the hanging loop is worn & frayed - the waist cord is in less good condition, it has begun to unravel, shows some wear & marks, & the tassels are missing from the ends. Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing.
I have a no returns policy - please check the above measurements and compare to a similar garment of your own before buying - no refund offered for items that don’t fit.
