A superb & unusual vintage 1960s tweed sports or hunting jacket, bespoke tailor made by 'Beere & Tomkinson' in 1964 from medium-weight wool fabric in a houndstooth or Shepherd check weave in shades of brown & beige. Top quality construction throughout, single breasted 2-button fastening with slim notch lapels - centre vent - quite heavily padded shoulders - fitted waist - large lower bellows pockets with flaps, breast & ticket pockets also with flaps - cuffs with 2 working buttons - body fully lined in brown satiny fabric with 2 chest & 1 large 'poachers' pockets, sleeves lined with ivory acetate.

Condition:
In good to very good condition overall, with signs of wear from intended use & some minor flaws - externally a few faint marks & surface snags from brambles - a small hole to the left elbow - a button missing from the right cuff, a loose button on the left cuff - internally the lining has some sweat marks at the armpits, watermarks & stains mostly towards the hem & to the sleeve linings - the poacher's pocket support strap is loose at one end. Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed but some fustiness at the armpits remains.
