A super-stylish vintage 1960s raglan sleeve uniform raincoat, made by 'Ensign Ltd.' in 1964 for 'S.A.R. - S.A.S.', which I believe is the South African Railways, from an air force blue wool barathea fabric which is very similar to that used for RAF raincoats. It is single breasted with a fly front, has scalloped shoulder yokes which are extra-deep at the back with ventilation eyelets beneath, removable epaulettes, storm tab stowed inside to attach at the neck, slash pockets, cuff tabs & matching belt with leather-covered buckle; fully lined in black rayon twill with a nylon interlining.

Size: Suggested Medium/Large, long fitting - to fit about 40" chest depending on layers beneath & desired fit - photographed on a 38" mannequin.
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Chest - armpit to armpit: 24" (61cm)
Sleeve length centre neck to cuff: approx. 38" (96.5cm)
Armpit to cuff: 19 1/2" (49.5cm)
Waist: 25" (63.5cm)
Back length - base of collar to hem: 48" (122cm)
Condition:
In very good to excellent condition with light wear overall & some flaws - there is a small hole on the left back, below the belt - a brown mark on the outer left sleeve - the interlining is a bit crunchy & rustly (but perhaps it always was!). Has been thoroughly steamed prior to listing but a musty storage smell remains.
