Vintage Mens 1980s Rubberised Inverness Cape Mustard Beige Rain Coat Mackintosh S
Vintage Mens 1980s Rubberised Inverness Cape Mustard Beige Rain Coat Mackintosh S
A tremendous vintage circa 1980s Inverness Rain Cape, made in Scotland from double texture rubberised cotton in a mustardy beige colour. It has a sleeveless body section, rather like a long jerkin, with deep armholes, horizontal front pockets & rear kick vent, large pointed collar, & generous attached cape section with fly front & internal arm loops; both parts fasten with pale greenish plastic buttons. Unfortunately the maker's label - perhaps Mackintosh - has been cut off.
Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
Size: Marked S - suggested to fit a person of 36"/38" chest depending on layers worn beneath - photographed on a 38" mannequin.
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Jerkin shoulder to shoulder: 17" (43cm)
Waist: 23" (58cm)
Back length - base of collar to hem: 47" (119cm)
Cape shoulder to shoulder: approx 17 1/2" (44.5cm)
Hem width at the back: 49" (124.5cm)
Back length - base of collar to hem: 29" (74cm)
Condition:
In very good condition overall - the fabric is still soft & flexible, with some storage folds & creasing - there is a faint red mark on the right collar tip, some scattered marks & watermarks here & there - muddy marks around the hem edges. The garment has a slightly rubbery smell.
I have a no returns policy - please check the above measurements and compare to a similar garment of your own before buying - no refund offered for items that don’t fit.
