An unissued vintage 1960s West German 'ZivilschutzBund' Civil Defence 2-piece uniform suit, sturdily made with a wealth of details from heavyweight wool fabric in marled charcoal grey. Single-breasted 5 button fly fronted jacket with pointed collar, pleated & flapped chest & lower pockets, cuffs with buttoned vents, oval elbow patches; fully lined in black satiny acetate with silvery striped sleeve linings, 2 inside chest & 2 field dressing pockets, adjustable belt hooks on hanging straps which feed through eyelets in the outer shell. Trousers are quite full cut & wide in the leg, with single inward pleats, elastic side adjuster straps, belt loops, brace buttons, side slip & 2 flapped rear pockets, button fly, double knees with waterproof interlining, & drawstrings in the hems. Both pieces retain the paper size label but do not appear to have any other markings.

Size: Marked EU 52, Suggested 40"-42" Regular depending on layers beneath - shown on a 38" mannequin. All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):

Condition: In excellent condition overall, never worn but with some minor storage damage - there is a small hole on the left shoulder, another on the right sleeve head, & a tiny one on the inside back of the collar - a few other surface moth nibbles here & there on both pieces which the camera couldn't see Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing but not cleaned.
